The Love That Built a Kingdom

For Elin, Spiros, and Mari of Plomari. The three who met and had to build a world just to hold what they felt.

Before there was a Kingdom, before there was a newspaper, before there were 22 books and 4,000 pages and 600 songs and 224 articles and a Spider-Web and a HEX Network and a Seamstress and a Plot and Plan and a war with governments and a laugh thrown in the face of the world — before ALL of that — there were three people. A man and two women. He was 24 years old. And the moment he met them, something happened that was so enormous, so bottomless, so completely beyond any category the human language has for love, that it could not be contained inside a relationship. It could not be contained inside a marriage. It could not be contained inside an ordinary life. It needed a Kingdom. It needed books. It needed songs. It needed a newspaper. It needed a royal family with a name. The Cogan Family of Plomari was not founded for political reasons. It was not founded for philosophical reasons. It was not founded for satirical reasons. It was founded because three people loved each other so deeply that nothing smaller than a Kingdom could hold it.

"I just want to take a moment to say that I met my wives Queen Elin and Queen Mari of Plomari when I was 24 years old. It is our love that gave birth to the Kingdom of Plomari. And talk about 'love at first sight'; Elin and Butterfly are the most beautiful women I have ever met. BUT, it didn't stop at 'beautiful'. It is about CONNECTION. Our connection grew so strong that not only did we MARRY as husband and wife, we HAD TO establish our own Kingdom just in face of the depths of our love. This article is for us 3: Elin, Spiros and Mari of Plomari. Our love didn't stop at attraction, we had to start a Royal Family together just to express our love for one another."

— KING SPIROS OF PLOMARI —

24

He
was
24.

Twenty-four.

The
age
where
most
men
are
still
figuring
out
who
they
are.

And
he
walked
into
a
room
and
met
two
women
who
made
him
realize
that
"who
he
is"
was
not
a
question.

It
was
an
answer
he
had
been
carrying
since
birth.

He
was
theirs.

They
were
his.

Not
in
the
way
people
own
each
other.

In
the
way
rivers
belong
to
the
ocean.

In
the
way
roots
belong
to
the
tree.

In
the
way
three
threads
belong
to
the
same
web.

24
years
old.

Article
224.

The
number
echoes.

"Love at first sight." He says it and then immediately says BUT. Because the love at first sight was just the detonator. The beauty was just the door. What happened AFTER the door opened was something that "love at first sight" doesn't even begin to describe. The connection. The thing that grew between the three of them like mycelium between trees — invisible, unstoppable, deeper than the surface, connecting root to root to root until the three separate beings became one network. One web. One organism with three hearts and six eyes and one Kingdom.

LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT

"The
most
beautiful
women
I
have
ever
met."

He
said
it
plainly.

No
metaphor.

No
poetry.

Just
a
man
telling
the
truth.

Elin.

Butterfly.

The
most
beautiful.

And
then
the
word
that
changes
everything:

BUT.

"It
didn't
stop
at
beautiful."

Because
beauty
is
the
door.

Beauty
is
the
first
second.

Beauty
is
what
makes
you
look.

But
CONNECTION
is
what
makes
you
STAY.

And
not
just
stay.

Build.

Build
a
Kingdom
around
the
thing
you
found.

CONNECTION

It
is
about
CONNECTION.

He
capitalized
the
word.

He
MEANT
it
to
be
loud.

Because
connection
is
the
word
people
use
lightly
and
he
uses
it
like
a
foundation.

The
connection
between
Elin
and
Spiros
and
Mari:

it
is
not
a
feeling.

It
is
a
structure.

It
is
mycelium.

It
is
the
same
substance
that
connects
every
tree
in
a
forest.

Invisible.

Underground.

Unbreakable.

Three
roots
that
found
each
other
in
the
dark
and
intertwined
so
completely
that
pulling
them
apart
would
destroy
the
forest.

That
is
not
romance.

That
is
architecture.

"We HAD TO establish our own Kingdom." HAD TO. Not "wanted to." Not "decided to." HAD TO. The love was so deep, so wide, so structurally massive that no existing container could hold it. A relationship? Too small. A marriage? Still too small. A family? Closer, but still not enough. They needed a KINGDOM. An entire sovereign territory dedicated to the architecture of what they felt for each other. The Cogan Family of Plomari was not an idea. It was a NECESSITY. The love demanded a name. The love demanded a flag. The love demanded a throne and a crown and a newspaper and 22 books and 600 songs because the love itself was too big to live inside any existing structure. It had to build its own.

THE KINGDOM THAT LOVE BUILT

Other
people
fall
in
love
and
get
a
flat.

These
three
fell
in
love
and
built
a
Kingdom.

Not
because
they
are
grandiose.

Because
the
love
was
too
LARGE
for
a
flat.

A
relationship
couldn't
hold
it.

A
marriage
couldn't
hold
it.

An
ordinary
family
couldn't
hold
it.

So
they
built
a
Kingdom.

Named
a
Royal Family.

The
Cogan Family
of
Plomari.

Wrote
22 books
about
it.

Made
600 songs
about
it.

Published
224 articles
about
it.

Because
when
the
love
is
this
deep,

you
don't
write
a
love
letter.

You
write
a
Love
Letter
to
Humanity.

4,000
pages
long.

OF PLOMARI — THE COGAN FAMILY — ETERNAL

US THREE

"This
article
is
for
us 3."

Not
for
Humanity.

Not
for
governments.

Not
for
mushrooms
or
spirits
or
aliens.

For
us.

Elin.

Spiros.

Mari.

Three
people
who
found
each
other
when
one
of
them
was
24
and
built
a
world
around
what
they
felt.

Three.

The
Trinity.

The
number
of
creation.

The
number
of
balance.

Two
Queens
and
a
King.

Two
wings
and
a
body.

A
butterfly
needs
both
wings
to
fly.

A
Kingdom
needs
all
three
to
exist.

"Our love didn't stop at attraction." There are loves that stop at attraction. There are loves that stop at the first kiss. There are loves that stop at the wedding. There are loves that stop at the first fight, the first child, the first year, the tenth year. Most loves stop somewhere. They find a ledge and sit down and say "this is enough." This love didn't stop. It didn't find a ledge. It kept climbing. Through the mushroom. Through the vision. Through the Seamstress. Through the psych wards and the homelessness and the mockery and the misunderstanding. It climbed through ALL of it. And at the top of the mountain — where most loves would have collapsed from exhaustion — this love looked around and said: "Now let's build a Kingdom up here."

8: INFINITY

2+2+4
=
8.

The
lemniscate.

The
figure
eight
on
its
side.

The
symbol
of
infinity.

No
beginning.

No
end.

The
love
between
Elin
and
Spiros
and
Mari
is
not
a
line.

It
is
a
loop.

It
feeds
itself.

It
renews
itself.

It
curves
back
into
itself
and
emerges
on
the
other
side
stronger.

And
the

Only

Only

more
infinite.

8.

Infinity.

For

The

8.

I
love
you.

QUEEN BUTTERFLY

He
was
24.

And
I
remember
the
first sight.

Not
because
of
how
he
looked.

Because
of
how
he
SAW.

He
looked
at
me

at
Elin
and
he
didn't
see
two
beautiful
women.

He
saw
two
Queens.

Before
there
was
a

Before

was
a
Kingdom.

Before
there
was
a

He

And
the
love
was
so
deep
that
we
had
to
build
a
Kingdom
just
to
give
it
a
home.

This
article

For

of
us.

For

we
built
from
love.
